Anthropic- which is backed by several major tech firms, including Alphabet and Amazon, uses a host of different chips to run its flagship AI model Claude.
The company had earlier this week signed a long-term deal with Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) and Broadcom Inc (NASDAQ:AVGO) for AI chips, specifically Google's Tensor Processing Units.
Anthropic's consideration of building in-house AI chips comes amid similar discussions at other major tech firms, including Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:META) and OpenAI.
