
DURBAN - Overnight storms in parts of KwaZulu-Natal have caused damage as trees have fallen and cars have been submerged in water.
In a statement, EThekwini Municipality's Disaster Management said a team is on the ground following a severe rainstorm that struck the city overnight, leaving widespread flooding, fallen trees, and damaged vehicles across several areas.

The Municipality urges residents to exercise extreme caution, avoid flooded roads, and report hazards such as fallen trees, damaged power lines, or blocked routes through official municipal channels.
"Motorists are strongly advised not to attempt crossing flooded roads, as water levels may be deeper and more dangerous than they appear," the statement reads in part.
