The ideal couple's tourer is spacious, packed with features and functionality, and styled like a boutique hotel on wheels when Adria Mobil is involved
If you choose to vacation in an RV, you might as well make sure it's the nicest money can buy, right? That last part is essential if you choose to configure your perfect RV starting from the flagship Alpina from Adria Mobil, as it's the nicest (a lot of) money can buy.
The Alpina series is the flagship premium line of travel trailers from Slovenia-based Adria Mobil. As explained in the video tour at the bottom of the page, these Alpina towables are among the biggest and nicest travel trailers (touring caravans) in Europe, but they're not the most expensive. That doesn't make them cheap by any means; it just puts things into perspective.
"Designed for peak performance," the Alpina trailers are imagined as elegant, complete vacation alternatives for people who don't mind spending their off time traveling between campgrounds. As is almost always the case with a European RV, these towables have little autonomy and are built to live at campsites where they can be hooked up to the mains for power, water, and sewage.
They're still one notch above the rest, though - they wouldn't be called "luxury" caravans if they weren't. With gorgeous finishes, the full range of appliances and features included, and enough versatility between the three available floorplans, Alpina are less like home on wheels and more like hotel suites on wheels.
For the 2026 model year, Adria is offering the Alpina series with just three
floorplans, named Colorado, Mississippi, and Rio Grande, listed from biggest to smallest. The Rio Grande, or the Alpina 623 HT Rio Grande by its official name, may be the smallest in the range, but it's still big by industry standards - and packed to the max with functionality and personality.
The Alpina Rio Grande is actually based on an older and very popular Adria Astella floorplan, one that stands out for how unconventional it is in this narrow niche of the touring caravan sector. It's a front kitchen rear bathroom floorplan that makes it better suited as a couple's coach and less ideal for use at maximum (4-person) capacity.
As a couple's RV, it might just be the perfect solution: spacious, neatly laid out, and loaded with functionality. A full tour of the Rio Grande starts at the 22.10-minute mark in the video available at the bottom of the page. After all, if pictures are worth a thousand words, moving pictures must be worth millions.
The Alpina Rio Grande sits on a single-axle
AL-KO chassis with 15-inch alu wheels and Continental tires, and it comes in at 8.19 meters (27 feet) of total length. It's extra-wide at 2.46 meters (8 feet) and 2.6 meters (8.5 feet) high, offering a very spacious and airy interior with extra headroom.
Construction of the shell is with a thermoformed ABS front and rear wall, polyester sidewalls, and styrofoam floor insulation. Alde liquid underfloor heating helps Adria fulfill the promise of a year-round caravan that will be just as comfortable in scorching weather as it will in sub-freezing temps. An AC is not part of the standard package, though.
So, the layout puts the kitchen at the front of the caravan, which means you get to prep meals and do the dishes while enjoying the best views in the (mobile) house. That's not irony, but a fact that should add to the appeal of this floorplan for certain customers.
The kitchen itself is beautiful, with solid wood handle-less cabinets with soft close hinges, a lot of counter space and plenty of storage options, despite the fact that it has no overhead cabinets. That's because of the large windshield and the curved opening skyroof right above it, which will help you
admire that view while doing chores.
Appliances include a large tower fridge with freezer off to the side, a three-burner gas cooktop, and a Thetford grill and oven under the counter. A large stainless steel sink, floating and removable shelves, and even a full spice cabinet are also included.
As you move through the trailer towards the rear, you get to the pass-through lounge, which doubles as the dining area once you bring out the removable table that stows away into a dedicated cabinet. The lounge is comprised of two sofas facing each other, an L-shaped one and a bench, which can be joined into a secondary double bed for guests.
Slatted frames, plush cushions, adjustable headrests, deep overhead cubbies, and a TV mount on the wall by the door, right above the smaller couch are standard. This space, while a pass-through area, is cozy, well lit by natural light, and very elegant. If you're to spend your day indoors in bad weather, this is perhaps the best option possible.
Next up is the bedroom, which can be closed off with sliding pocket doors from either side. The Rio Grande is a fixed island configuration, so you have a full king bed here with adjustable headrest to allow easier passage to the rear bathroom. It's framed by full wardrobes on either side and comes with a couple more overhead cubbies, a large storage compartment underneath, as well as a second TV mount in the corner at the far end.
European RVs never include TVs in the standard package, even if they're of the premium or luxury kind. In fact, European RVs almost never include the TV mounts or TV prep, so this Alpina having two mounts shows that it is, indeed, top of the line.
The bathroom is a full-width one, so it will be slim and long, but still a full and packed one. You'll find here a cassette toilet, a raised washbasin on a storage-integrating vanity, and a compact but nice shower with a molded seat. Despite the compact space, Adria is still able to offer plenty of storage in here as well.
The all-inclusive package that comes with the Alpina Rio Grande includes a two-piece door, Alde Compact hot-water heating system, prewiring for AC, a Visaton sound system with speakers with Bluetooth amplifier, and a massive storage locker at the front with a spare wheel, a rollable wastewater tank, and place for a pair of 11-kg (24-lb) gas bottles.
The trailer itself can only hold 50 liters (13-gallon) of freshwater in a dedicated fixed tank.
Options include stuff like an AC unit, a solar package, a large awning, an electric step, auto-leveling, and a choice between different colors and finishes for the interior. Empty weight starts at 1,785 kg (3,935 lbs) before everything, so you have to keep the 2,000-kg (4,409-lb) maximum permissible weight in mind when adding
options and payload.
Pricing will also vary depending on options. The unit shown in the video below, for example, has a sticker of £43,645, which is approximately €50,300 or $59,000 at the current exchange rate.
