April 1 (Reuters) - Elon Musk's SpaceX has confidentially filed for its hotly anticipated U.S. initial public offering, Bloomberg News reported on Wednesday, moving the billionaire closer to having a second publicly traded company in his empire.

March 2002 - Elon Musk launched SpaceX using money he made from the sale of PayPal.
