The effort is positioned as a coalition-based approach: Anthropic pairs its preview model with a broad set of partner organizations that can run coordinated testing.

Anthropic's Mythos Preview is described as capable of discovering vulnerabilities at scale. In the reporting, the company says it has found thousands of high-severity issues, including some across major operating systems and web browsers. Anthropic has also said it would not release Mythos Preview publicly because doing so could raise misuse concerns.

Project Glasswing matters because it treats cybersecurity evaluation as an adversarial exercise rather than a purely internal QA step. Instead of waiting for attackers to discover weaknesses in widely deployed software, the program seeks to have partner organizations validate findings and harden systems while the testing can still be contained.
