OpenAI has secured a multi-year partnership with News Corp, the parent company of Wall Street Journal

Anthropic is set to finalize a deal related to a new joint venture with major Wall Street firms including Goldman Sachs, Blackstone and others.

Under the highly-anticipated deal, the US-based artificial intelligence company will sell AI tools to private-equity backed companies as disclosed by people privy to the matter.

In terms of investment, each company including Anthropic, Hellman & Friedman, and Blackstone will invest around $300 million as reported by the Wall Street Journal.

Other firms, such as General Atlantic that are part of the deal are set to commit about 1.5 billion, the sources said.

According to the report, Goldman Sachs is set to be a founding investor, investing around $150 million. The finalized deal is expected to be announced on Monday.

The deal's purpose revolves around creating a company as a consulting arm for Anthropic and other businesses, helping them to integrate AI across their operations.

News Corp, owner of The Wall Street Journal, has a content-licensing partnership with OpenAI.

The joint venture deal could be seen as a way to compete with OpenAI as the tech company has been involved in talks to form a rival joint venture with private-equity firms, aiming to accelerate the adoption of its AI tools.

When it comes to the enterprise market competition, Anthropic holds a significant dominance and OpenAI still lags in this domain. But both are pivoting towards efforts to sell their AI tools to businesses. As of early 2026, data suggests Anthropic's Claude is winning roughly 70% of new business matchups against OpenAI in the professional sector.

Anthropic is also looking for a public listing and this month, the company's revenue has surged driven by the success of Claude Code.
